Copywriting Question Time!
These are some of the questions that my copywriting clients ask me
How much do you charge for copywriting?
As a general rule and starting point, I charge £35 an hour or £300 a day. However, I prefer to quote a per-project price, so you know exactly how much the work will cost up-front and we both know where we stand. Tell me your budget and we shall work something out together!
My costs are set in line with the recommended rates outlined by the Professional Copywriters Network .
How do you take payment?
For new clients, I request a 50% deposit once you have signed the project proposal before I start working on your copy. If your project is less than £500, you will need to pay the full fee upfront. Once your project is completed and you’re happy with your final draft, I issue an invoice with 14 days to pay. For larger projects, I will arrange staggered payments, to be paid when project milestones are met.
How long will it take to write my copy?
That depends on your copywriting project needs. The first thing I will ask is when your deadline is. If you don’t have one I would provide an estimate and will keep you updated throughout on progress.
Can we meet to discuss my copywriting project?
Always more than happy to meet for a coffee and chat, or schedule in a FaceTime or Zoom chat but if you would rather just chat on the phone or email to discuss your project brief etc thats also great. So get in touch and we shall take it from there!
What if I want to make changes to my first draft of copy?
Two rounds of amendments are included in your fee.
What industries do you do copywriting, editing and proofing for?
I have experience across a range of industries from hospitality and sports, through to graphic design agencies and building companies. However, if I think I can add value to your project, then we’ll work together regardless of what industry your business is in.
Who owns the copyright to the work?
You do. Once the project has been completed and paid for in full, the copyright is automatically transferred to you. However, we do ask that we’re able to use snippets of our previous work for our own marketing materials.
Can you take on projects at short notice?
Ideally, I need at least one week to schedule in new projects. However, if your copywriting needs are urgent, and we have capacity, we’ll try our best to accommodate you but the fee might be slightly higher than a job with normal time restraints.
